ABOUT CHRIS
Chris Martinez is the Founder of Principled Compass. He has a vision to create a company that is the most highly respected service provider in the industry; respected for honesty, the integrity of their people, and the unwavering commitment to the values that connect intent with behavior. He has a passion for teaching his philosophy to others and helping organizations develop what will make them the most successful: their people.
Chris graduated from Doane College with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He was a four-year letterman in football and served as the offensive line coach as a fifth-year senior. Upon graduation in spring of 2001, Chris began his career in crowd management as an Event Manager with Contemporary Services Corporation in Denver, CO.
Between the years of 2001-2019, Chris spent time in Denver, Indianapolis, El Paso, and Houston. He was involved with a multitude of events including: NFL games with the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, and Kansas City Chiefs, Major League Baseball with the Houston Astros, Superbowl LI, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Monster Jams, NCAA Final Fours, Bowl games, collegiate programs, major stadium concerts, festivals, and conventions. He has held many titles in the company over the last 20 years, most recently Senior Vice President of Operations.
Chris worked hand-in-hand with ProtaTECH, a CSC affiliate company, on the strategic development of the CSC Hiring Portal and creating the processes and procedures for Workforce Information Systems Host (WISH), CSC’s employee management software. He has innovated many processes to create content that translates across every area of crowd management, volume hiring and guest service delivery. He has led content delivery for managers at the annual Training in Hiring Operations, Recruiting and Retention conference, as well as the lead in content delivery for multiple topics at CSC’s annual Corporate Meetings. One of Chris’s greatest accomplishments was the development of new managers through oversite of the Leadership Academy, CSC’s internship and manager trainee program. Chris directly managed the Leadership Academy Seminar, a 5-day biannual conference at the Houston Office to train new managers in the fundamentals of operational development.
Over the past two decades, Chris became the most decorated manager in the history of Contemporary Services Corporation, the world’s largest crowd management company. He earned every major award the company has presented, to include the highest of honors: being inducted into the Golden Circle in 2017 for outstanding long-term success. Most recently, he was named to the Board of Directors in 2018.
Chris left CSC in 2020 to found Principled Compass. He founded the company on the the idea that the skill sets he has developed over the past two decades can establish understanding with an innovated approach to common process. His direct working knowledge of what it takes to plan, prepare and deliver employees in a large volume environment sets his approach aside from other programs. His passion for the development of people is what brings his vision to life; connecting intent with behavior.
